I thought I would just share a couple of pics with you from our magical Saturday afternoon. It just so happened to be my dear friend Andy’s birthday and mother nature declared a crystal clear winters day in celebration. We clambered aboard the sturdy “Hannah Mary” and proceeded at a graceful “chug” around Lake Wanaka. Some celebratory bubbles were broken open and we sucked up the crisp snowy mountain air. Living in a small lakeside town sure has its benefits.
No kidding…you should. Originally an attraction for it’s gold mining potential, the rugged dry environment surrounding Clyde is now home to stone fruit orchards and vineyards. In the last few years some forward thinking locals have begun to restore and develop the old central stores, creating a beautiful little historical precinct. A lovely place for lunch and an afternoon wander I would also recommend checking out the beautiful little renovated B&B’s.
Here is a run down of just some of the stops I made in Auckland last weekend. Having spent so little time up there since I moved south 6 years ago I saw the city through new interested eyes and woah….there has been some awesomeness taking place! The waterfront areas closest to the city have come alive with bars, restaurants, shops and public areas that seem to be thriving. Exciting interior fit outs, divine food and clever use of old forgotten spaces. I was buzzing! A lazy Saturday morning visit
I have skipped through Brisbane and now I’m in Sydney for (day job) work but Melbourne is lingering in my mind. Below is a short, sharp pictorial tracking of some of my adventures.
