She’s back! One of my absolute favourite artistic eyes has returned from some time out for motherhood to present a new show of work called “Places I’d Rather Be” – Lamington Drive Gallery, Melbourne August 31 – Sept 17.
No one does delicate, feminine or ethereal like Emma Leonard and this new series all but sets that in stone.
“Places I’d Rather Be is a contemplation on wanderlust — a visual daydream for those with a sense of nostalgia for a time and place they have never experienced. In this new collection of original works and limited edition prints, Emma Leonard portrays subjects disconnected from their immediate environment, pining for a destination where urgency and discomfort melt away, replaced by wide-open roads, vast spaces and a gentle, enveloping sun.”
If you are in Melbourne definitely cruise a long to drink this visual goodness in. If not, then explore Emma’s world on instagram here, her etsy store here OR you might be interested to read the interview we did with her a few years ago here!
