Mt Maunganui

This is a quick shoutout to all of you in the upper North Island with a free space on your dance card for the 21st of Dec. The popular Little Big Markets are holding a special Christmas event on the Tauranga waterfront which in addition to 150 stalls of goodies and gourmet food – are bringing you Tiki Taane, Anika Moa, Hollie Smith and Anna Coddington to entertain you! It’s a goody. Photography: Elizabeth Karin

In celebration of turning 5 years old this month, NZ based footwear label; Chaos + Harmony enlisted kiwi illustrater Kelly Thompson to help them do it in style! To commemorate the re-release of 5 of their favourite designs in black, Kelly created an artwork for each. You can check out the rest at Kelly’s great blog including a Q&A with Chaos + Harmony designer; Rebecca Anderson. Remember the little collab I did with Chaos + Harmony this year?

I feel a little guilty as I have sat on these images for way too loooong, which is ridiculous considering what a stunner of an event this is!! This is the second post I have bought you covering the activity of one chapter of the Kinfolk community in New Zealand. This time Shaye Woolford of On My Hand hosted and styled the event which was a dinner held in celebration of Kinfolk’s new cookbook; The Kinfolk Table. With her team of talented collaborators (listed at foot of post) they welcomed guests

I visited Rosie at her Mt Maunganui home last month and learnt how her passion for fashion (yep…I went there) saved her from a dreary banking future and helped her discover how she could combine her attention for detail and her journalistic drive with a clothing (and serious SHOE) obsession. WHO: Rosie Dawson-Hewes. I’m a sub-editor, fashion writer, social media addict, coffee

I’ve recently discovered that Mount Maunganui is quite the haven for creative and savvy kiwi business. If time had allowed there would have been more than a few days of interviews to be had there! But I was on a mission to meet with Beks Anderson and the Chaos & Harmony team in the lead up to a fun collaboration we have in the works (all to be revealed in next few days!) The Chaos & Harmony HQ is also the home of Beks, Greg and son Matthias, work place
