I consider myself so lucky to have recently spent a few days on an island with a young, passionate creative soul called Indigo Greenlaw (there were also others on this island too!)
Indigo and I were both invited to speak as part of the 2015 A Bit More Soul photography retreat and while I talked on the relatively light and dry subject of social media for small biz, I joined 40 others to sit captivated to hear the talk delivered by Indigo.
She outlined her part in The Paper Rain Project launched with her fiance: Wills Rowe and shared her ideas on creativity combined with business in a way I’d never heard before!
With a pipe dream to see Paper Rain act as an umbrella creative enterprise and platform to launch and support artists from around the world, the duo have begun by using their own skills. Wills has perfected the craft of transforming local, Marlborough sourced wine barrels into beauuuutiful long boards which Indigo then customises with her own illustration. I’ve seen these…they are incredible!
They also have collaborated with 15 artists to screenprint their illustrations onto t -shirts which in turn have been sourced from an NZ based social enterprise in India.
Their work is great but their attitude, resourcefulness and passion for their project is, to me, unrivaled. I am SO SO excited to see what will come next!
Anyone passing through Picton this summer should drop into their new Pop Up Shop which is being set up right now! But regardless, please take some time to browse their growing collection online here.
